Mortise Lock Replacements

A mortise lock is a mechanism that is installed internally in a most doors. It normally requires an internal “cut-out” or door pocket for the mortise to fit into the door. The installation process involves removing the old hardware unit and replacing with the proper new unit. The mortise lock controls the position of a lock cylinder or thumb-turn allowing the door lock to function correctly, locking or unlocking the door. Keyed on the outside, or flip latch or thumb turn on the inside for controlling access and entry. There are numerous styles, shapes, functions, sizes and types of mortise lock assemblies such as single and double throw, multi-point locking systems etc.
